ด้วยความสนใจใคร่รู้เกี่ยวกับการปิดสถานโทรทัศน์ไอทีวี เป็นครั้งแรกในเวลาที่นานมากแล้วที่ผมตั้งใจจะเปิดดูช่องไอทีวีว่าเขาว่ากันอย่างไร แล้วก็เผอิญไปตรงกับที่ลูกชายอุ๋ยกำลังจ้อว่า “ต่างชาติมันด่ากันเละ” ผมเลยอยากรู้ว่าเขาด่าอย่างไร

Thai Govt. To Stop ITV Broadcast At Midnight

(RTTNews) – Singapore’s Temasek Holdings-controlled Independent Television (iTV) plc will go off the air temporarily at midnight Tuesday after it failed to pay close to Bt100 billion or $2.8 billion to the Thai government in fines and outstanding fees.

ขณะที่ นำข่าวจาก Bloomberg News และ Reuters ตีพิมพ์ ๖ มีนาคม ขึ้นหัวข้อข่าวว่า “Thai government seizes TV station sold by ex-leader” เนื้อข่าวเป็นการรายงานเหตุการทั่วไปพร้อมอ้างอิงถ้อยคำของนายกฯ

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont apologized to a group of ITV reporters near Government House for another change of mind. “I would like to apologize,” he said. “I always realize the importance of media, but there were legal issues and I have to stick to the law.”

“The push to nationalize ITV is an unfortunate precedent that has increased the risk of investing in Thailand,” said Keith Neruda, head of research of UBS Securities in Bangkok.

ITV probably faced bankruptcy and delisting, analysts said, although the financial impact on Shin would be small because ITV represented less than 1 percent of the company’s net asset value.

The France-based independent media monitoring agency Reporters Without Borders said in a statement last week: “It is regrettable that the Council for National Security has not begun a policy of media liberalisation and is repeating the mistakes made by Thaksin, who tried to suppress dissident media.”
